ANNUAL INTER SCHOOL CULTURAL FEST

TIME: 9am – 4pm
N.B: Valedictory function of the DCL activities of the year will be held on the same day (after noon). The prizes of the painting competition held on 27 July, 2008 will also be distributed during the function.
GENERAL DIRECTIVES
v Competitions will be conducted separately for HS and MS students for Solo Song, Solo Dance, Group Dance, Rangoli, Elocution, Fancy Dress, Mehendi Designing, Su Do Ku, Creative Writing, and Flower Arrangement.
v Competitions will be conducted common for HS and MS for Patriotic Song, Skit, Debate, Collage, Dumb Charades, and Quiz.
v Competitions begin at 9.00 am at different stages.
v Participants are expected to report at least 15 minutes before the scheduled time.
v It was nice that you do the registration at the earliest.
v Spot registration starts at 8.00 am.
v Registration fee for individual items will be Rs.20 per head, dual items Rs.30 per team, and group items Rs.50 per team.
RULES FOR THE COMPETITIONS
Solo Song (HS &MS)
- Semi classical or filmy songs
- Duration 4+1 minutes only
- Judgment criteria: Rhythm, voice,
- Melody and Overall Performance
- Unlimited entries
Single Dance (HS &MS)
- Duration: 5+1 minutes only
- Semi or pure classical
- Judgment criteria: Rhythm, choreography, costume, and overall performance
- Unlimited entries
Fancy Dress (HS &MS)
- Duration: Only one minute on stage
- Judgment criteria: Presentation and creativity
- Unlimited entries
Elocution (HS &MS)
- Duration 4+1 minutes
- Judgment criteria: Presentation of topics, Logical sequence, voice modulation, language, expression and overall performance
- Topic: (MS: Coalition Government) (HS: Global Economy Crisis)
- Unlimited entries
Flower Arrangement (HS &MS)
- Individual item
- Unlimited entries
- All materials to be brought by the participants
- Not more than 3 varieties of flowers permitted
- Time: 2 hours
Su -do-ku (HS &MS)
- Individual Event
- Unlimited entries
- Participants who solve the puzzle the fastest will be declared the winner
Creative writing (HS &MS)
- Individual event
- Unlimited entries
- Can be a poem, a short story or an essay
- Topics will be announced at the venue
- Only paper will be provided
- Reference materials not allowed
- Duration: 2 hours
Dumb Charades
- 2 teams per school
- 3 in a team
- Rounds will be divulged at the venue
- Duration: 2+1 minutes only
- No separate competition for HS and MS
Debate (School Team)
- Team consists of two members
- In each team one 'for' and one 'against'
- Duration: 4+1 minutes only
- Two minutes for questioning and defense
- No separate competition for HS and MS
- Judgment criteria: The Rhetoric, Expression, Accuracy, Logical Sequence, Style and Overall Performance
- Topic: Alliance of Religion and Politics
Collage
- Team consists of two members
- Duration: 2 Hours only
- No separate team for HS and MS
- Only chart paper will be provided
- Judgment criteria: Creativity, Imagination, and integration
- Topic: Indian Politics
- Unlimited entries
Mehendi Designing (HS & MS)
- Team consists of two members
- Unlimited Entries
- Judgement Criteria: Design, Creativity and Perfection
- Only on Palm
Rangoli (HS &MS)
- Team consists of two members
- Duration: 2hours only
- Participants have to bring necessary materials
- Judgment criteria: Creativity, colour combination
- Size: 3x3ft
Group Dance (HS &MS)
- Singing could be live or recorded
- Film song also can be used
- Duration: 7+1 minutes only
- Maximum No: of participants: 9
- HS and MS joined group are not allowed
- Unlimited entries
